As you must be aware – the Democratic Party Caucus is this Sunday. We finally get our say in the selection of (hopefully) our next President. Given who the front-runner of the opposition is, it is vitally important that we make careful choices and speak up. The caucus is our chance to do that.
In addition, this meeting of Bowdoinham Democrats is the time to build the Party from the grass roots up. We will be accepting volunteers to participate in the town committee, the county committee and to be a delegate to the state convention this summer in Portland. This will be a busy year politically, and you are needed if we are not going to find ourselves in the same place as a nation as we find ourselves in “Le Page’s Maine”. Please consider stepping forward to help us all move further on our mutual path to a more humane and peaceful country.
More immediately, I need a few people to help run the caucus this Sunday. I need two people to check folks in at the door, and I need someone else to supervise the petition table. If you can help with that, reply to me and plan to be at the Town Hall at about 12:30 to get set-up and ready. I anticipate this caucus to be busier than the 2012 caucus, and this is your first opportunity to pitch-in.
